Skating Levels

LEVEL            SKILLS BEING DEVELOPED
PRE-TOT (Age 3) Beginning class for 3 year olds only.  Fun, balance, and self-confidence are stressed.
TOT I (Ages 4-6) The child is instructed to stand, fall, and get up by themselves.  Marching and 2 foot glides are taught.  Balance and self-confidence are also taught.
TOT II (Ages 4-6) Forward and backward skating and one-foot glides are taught.
TOT III (Ages 4-6)  Forward stroking is stressed.  Forward crossovers and snowplow stops are taught as well as backward swizzles.
PRE-ALPHA    Forward and backward skating and one-foot glides are taught.
ALPHA For the skater who has accomplished one-foot glides.  Forward stroking, forward crossovers and the snowplow are taught.
BETA  Backward skating is perfected here.  Backward stroking, backward crossovers and T-stops are taught.
GAMMA Mohawks, outside 3 turns, hockey stops are taught.
DELTA Inside 3 turns, forward edge rolls, lunges, tap toes, and shoot the duck are taught.
FREESTYLE 1 Two foot spin, waltz jump, forward arabesque
FREESTYLE 2  2 forward arabesque, ½ lutz, 1 foot spin
FREESTYLE 3 Salchow jump, change foot spin, dance step
FREESTYLE 4  Flip jump, sit spin, ½ loop jump
FREESTYLE 5  Lutz jump, combination spin, axel jump
FREESTYLE 6    Split jump, double Salchow, spin combination
FREESTYLE 7         Choice of double toe loop or double toe walley, Jump in opposite direction, flying camel
FREESTYLE 8 Choice of illusion or camel-jump-camel,  Double loop, split lutz
FREESTYLE 9  Double lutz, double flip, flying camel into jump sit spin
FREESTYLE 10 Double axel/double toe loop combination, death drop Triple toe jump or 4 alternating axels sequence
