Good Luck, Skaters!
Best of luck to all our skaters competing at Badger State and other upcoming competitions! Remember, you represent our club while at these competitions. Please show good sportsmanship - wish your fellow club members good luck, cheer each other on, and congratulate all other competitors. If you are not competing, please consider coming to watch and cheer other club members on. A schedule showing when club members are skating will be posted on the bulletin board prior to Badger State or it can also be viewed on the website at www.sk8stuff.com/bsg.

Show Book Ads Needed Please Help!!
We are asking that every family recruit one business to advertise in the Ice Show Book this year. Last year we barely had enough advertisers to cover the cost of the book. Contact places you regularly do business or family members who own a business. We will give you the letters and you could hand deliver them if you wish. We have a list of businesses who regularly place ads in the book and we would like to expand on this list. In the past this book helped generate funds for the club, which in turn reduced the cost of ice. Please contact Sherri Moscinski with business names to contact or obtain a letter from her to deliver personally.
Tips for a
Successful Competition
-Submitted by Lynda Schrader
Have your skates sharpened about two weeks before a competition in order to have good, sharp skates, but enough time to get used to them. Make sure all screws are tight.
Bring TWO copies of all your music. Turn in one copy and keep one copy handy.
Check to make sure you have all the costumes you need and that they are laundered. Having a spare is a good idea as well. Wear your competition costume to a skating session to get used to how it’s going to feel and to make any adjustments it might need. Skate in your costume without gloves or a sweater.
Try to have a close-fitting sweater for warming up in. A sweater looks better than a warm-up suit jacket. White gloves look nice as well.
Polish your skates so they are nice and white or wear over-the-boot tights.
Keep a spare pair of laces and tights in your skate bag.
Bring along a needle, thread, safety pins, scissors, and a screwdriver.
Don’t forget hair accessories and make-up.
Most importantly: Don’t forget your skates!
Always remember to bring a positive attitude; smile and have fun.
Arrive at the rink about one hour before your skate time.
After your event, don’t forget to pick up your music before you go home.
Concession Stand News
- DO NOT report for your shift more than 30 minutes before the shift starts. The Willett will not pay for time put in before the shift is scheduled to start. (IE: for a Saturday morning learn to skate, do not sign in before 8:30.)
- If you request a change, please be sure to check back on the schedule to make sure the proper changes have been made.
- If you haven't already done so, you may sign up for a 4th shift. At this point, you may have four shifts TOTAL - this includes the shifts you worked the first half.
After February 1st you may sign
up for a fifth one. The shifts will be limited, so first come first serve.

The club will be placing another sportswear order next month. So if
